Appointment of New SAIL Manager November 15th 2021

Michael Boyer has been appointed as the new manager of SAIL from 15 November 2021. He will succeed Jef Soetewey, who has managed SAIL since 2017.

Mike joins SAIL from Lubrizol having worked within the lubricants industry for 24 years. He has held numerous technical and commercial positions which have provided him with a wide range of skills and experience within the automotive lubricants industry including managing lubricant qualification technical programs in accordance with the industry codes of practice that collectively make up the EELQMS process.

Mike holds an MSc degree in Industrial and Hydraulic Technology from De Montfort University in the United Kingdom and has presented technical and commercial papers at a number of high-profile seminars and conferences throughout the world

“I am delighted and honoured to serve as the new manager for SAIL-Europe and welcome the opportunity to use my expertise and experience within the lubricant industry to uphold the principles and integrity of the EELQMS process.” He commented.

A succession planning process will ensure a seamless transition and continuity. Jef Soetewey will continue to be active in his current position until 31 December 2021. Jef and Michael will work closely together and at the same time a handover process will be implemented.

I am eager to welcome Mike as new SAIL manager. With his deep knowledge and many years of experience in lubricants, he is the ideal successor to continue Jef’s great work.”
